This is the expression of a self-devised art movement by Frans Meijer, called ‘Vegetative Structurism’, which is also the title of the work.
The artist has applied several layers of green on a blue underlay, creating an effect of depth in the green mass. It feels like an abstract representation of nature or some sort of vegetation, divided into several green colour areas that together create a very exciting composition.
The work comes with an original wooden frame that contributes to its natural and authentic character.
And again, the paintings back side tells us a lot about its provenance: a tangible piece of history.
