Ingrid Oostendorpstudied at the Academy of Fine Arts in ‘s Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, and also attended the faculty of painting at Surikow Moskow State Academy Art Institute, Russia.

During the years she developed her own highly recognizable style of painting. In more recent years Ingrid Oostendorp started working with pigments, making use of old painting techniques, for which she followed a specialized training.

In her work Ingrid Oostendorp seeks to investigate the human body as a tool for expressing a complex range of emotions as well as the interrelatedness of the body and its interior live. Moreover she is interested in what happens when multiple bodies collide or interact and how this can be represented through the medium of paint. In 2000 she started working on her main project, The circus of life, which is developing into a series of paintings as well as short animated movies.

Ingrid Oostendorp lives and works in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
