Jeroen Hermkens (1960) received his training at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (Academy for Visual Arts) in Utrecht and the Atelier lithografique Champfleury in Parijs.

In 1996, he was awarded the Dutch Graphic Art Award for his large lithographs; ten years later, he became Dutch Artist of the Year 2006.

His artwork has been on display both at home and abroad, with expositions in Vienna, New York, New Orleans, Beauvais and Bruges. Within the Netherlands, his work has been showcased in, among others, Museum Flehite in Amersfoort, Museum de Buitenplaats in Eelde, Museum Rijswijk, Slot Zeist, the Singer Museum in Laren and the Utrecht Central Museum.

Seeing Jeroen’s litographs and paintings means being confronted by its expressive identity, the conscious and forceful brush strokes, and the subtle colour choices.
