Theo Kuijpers, born in Helmond in 1939, is a renowned Dutch painter, collagist, sculptor, and graphic artist. He received his education at the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven. From 1962 to 1963, he served in the military in Suriname, a former Dutch colony. Upon returning to Brabant, he began incorporating his impressions of Latin America into his artwork.

Kuijpers’ work is included in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, and various private collectors both in the Netherlands and abroad. His art often explores the boundary between figuration and abstraction, influenced by movements such as COBRA and ZERO. He is considered an heir to the first wave of Dutch artists after World War II.
