Lithograph by Frank Boom (1954). Work is in good condition and comes in a Barth frame. Boom wrote a subtitle with the work in which he expresses his whereabouts and gives more detailed information on his surroundings. ‘I made the design for this lithograph on a sunny afternoon in August, lying in a meadow just north of Scheulder, Limburg. There you can see for about three and a half kilometres through the Gerendal over the lower lying Geul valley to the Schaelsberg. Here you have a view of the colorful sloping woods, grass and arable land, hollow roads, graves and hedgerows.’

Frank Boom (1954) was born in Uithoorn and graduated “Cum laude” from the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zürich, Switzerland. After which he continued his education at the Rijks Academie in Amsterdam. He has lived in Limburg since 1988. Boom is an apprentice of Friso ten Holt.

Frank Boom refines the beautiful sketches and drawings with oil on canvas or watercolours in the particularly beautiful hayloft of the half-timbered farmhouse in Mheer, Limburg. It is a dream house where Frank imagines himself in true craftsmanship and history.

Boom paints the Limburg landscapes with such passion that even Domaine Backerbosch has had its own vineyard printed on the etiquette. The bottle of Riesling from Domaine Backerbosch has never looked so inspiring and moving.

Walking through the Gerendal, you get to know the meaning of this dry valley. In the dry chalk grasslands, you will find many rare wild plants, including various types of orchids.
From the higher plateau of Margraten, you have a view of the beautiful interplay of hills and valleys with eye-catching patches of colour.

In addition to the impressive landscapes, the studio also offers very special personal portrait works with a true display of emotion and inspiration. With a gentle hand and impressive movement, fragile emotions and deep thoughts are processed into an expressive image.
